I think that this version has a lot more energy than the previous one with the elements and the spread of the title across the page giving it more flow. I am not sure about the colours though. The green is quite bright and the contrast of the orange really draws your eye to the frame rather than the photos. The yellow that you used on the previous page might be a better choice to try (or at least something a little less in your face). See what you think

wow it's intersting about yellow because I used the same colour there as well. Probably because there's less of it looks darker

I certainly agree that this layout really is much superior to the previous which seemed unfinished to me . The colours are bright but I dont dislike them - I wonder if its the spot on the green that makes it seem a little busy though - Id like to see it with a plainer background . The zoo in the photos is Auckland Zoo so you might like to add that word into the title which seems very short ( zoo being such a short word ) or you could make the title trip to the zoo which would make the title seem more finished . I do like the placement of the photos in this layout though . I dont dislike the orange frame but it may look better in a darker green - try it and see
