A black man was elected to be the next president of the United States of America on the 4th of November, 2008. The first time in the history of our nation. 143 years after slavery was abolished; 40 years after Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated a nation has taken great strides and has elected, by a large margin, Barack Obama to be our next President. Hope in the change he has promised to bring to our struggling nation and the desire to have that change has influenced many to vote in his favor. We marvel at this historical moment and remember the dream of Martin Luther King Jr, knowing that now a man has been judged by the content of his character and not the color of his skin. On this day his dream has been fully realized. And I'm blessed to be witness to history.
