This is a scraplift of Jeanet's "One of a Kind" which is just over there in the gallery one layout away!

CC is appreciated. I'm not used to piling on the elements, and I like Jeanet's layout better!!! Help!

The journaling reads:

Mom, Eloise Wilcox Stoneman, was the only secretary in the Political Science Department at the University of Wyoming, where this photo was taken, for 18 years until she retired at the age of 63. Twenty years later, she was diagnosed with colon cancer. Her response? "It can happen to anyone. Why not me?" She went shopping before her surgery and bought a new place setting of dishes. She set the table with these to use when she returned home. She had been walking four miles a day, so she was in good physical condition. Her doctor dismissed her from the hospital days before he had planned. Mom refused the offer of a wheelchair, walked out, went home, and ordered in pizza. Mom remained cancer free for the rest of her life. She had been born on Valentines Day, lived a full life, and died on the Fourth of July at age 93.

I used Carole Harden's "Sonata"

and Robyn Gough's "Sandy Blue Value Collection"

Wow this is beautiful and you have done a wonderful job of stacking the elements. What a wonderful story of a woman who obviously in tune with herself and the world.

this flew into my favs. folder and I will have to lift it. I wouldn't change anything, your layout is wonderful and so is your journaling. It really is a sweet loving tribute to your dear mum and it makes me wish to have my mum back here with me. Beautiful work, Beth.

Beth - How did I possibly miss commenting on this page? It is gorgeous and so touching. Your Mom is such a wonderful inspiration, I can see why you chose her for your layout. BTW, I also just scraplifted Jeanet's page, and almost linked to yours. I thought I must have gotten the original wrong....then I realized you scraplifted her also. LOL. I love both yours and Jeanets better. Here is mine:

How did I miss it too? What a wonderful testament and loving tribute to your mom, Beth. Now I'm beginning to understand how, at least in part, you have become the awesome, wonderful, Godly woman that you are!
