This is my family celebrating Christmas in 1962. Doing this layout was so bittersweet. I am not sure exactly why - I do heritage layouts all the time - but somehow looking though that window and seeing myself as a little girl surrounded by all the people I loved brought back so many memories. I miss them. I miss them all.



Journaling reads:

My family always gathered together for birthdays and holidays and looking in this window I see all the people I love. While I sit happily under the Christmas tree surrounded by presents and wrapping paper my aunt snaps a few family photos. My brother Kenny is only a month old and must be sleeping but all the rest of them are there -- my grandmother Olga (who adored me and was adored in return), my Mom Mom and Pop Pop (who I never got to know as well as I would have liked), my Uncle Lundy (looking very dapper in his bow tie), and my mother (whom I miss more than I can say.) The only two that are missing are my Aunt Pat (who I suspect is behind the camera) and my dad (who is surely standing next to her giving advice.) Yes, they are all there -- bound together by love and memories -- because memories are what families are made of.
