My page for the Journey to Health challenge. This was hard to write and even harder to post... I don't like putting all this personal information out there. But what I realized is that when I think that way, I'm coming from a place of judgment and shame. So hopefully posting this helps me to view my situation more objectively. It is what it is, and all I can do is work on changing things.

February Life Journal Element Set

Journaling reads:
When I got pregnant in ‘01 I was 15 pounds overweight. After giving birth I was about 25 pounds overweight. I never lost that weight and then at some point after I turned 45, I suddenly gained about 10 more pounds.
I look so uncomfortable in this photo. Lately I've been hesitant about being pictured full-length - note how I've draped my arm across in the hopes of covering my mid-section!
Since being treated for BCA in 2006, I have been self-conscious about my body and my looks. It took some time to adjust to losing all my hair and having new scars. I have not felt pretty or attractive for a long time.
I have powerful reasons to change. My BCA is less likely to return if I eat a low-fat diet. I can ward off heart disease and diabetes with healthy eating and exercise.
I have a wonderful family to live for, and I want to help people through my coaching business. I want to live a long, active life!
I give thanks for my health, my intellect, my sense of humor, my faith and all my gifts. And I WILL fight for what I want to be - today and tomorrow.
