All of you said such nice things about the title page I posted, but here's a possible alternative, using collage and a different approach from the name/words thing. So what do y'all think? This one, or the earlier one? Maybe one as title, one as first inside page?

And before anyone gets after me for bad spelling, notice that the quote is from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, before spelling had been standardized as it is now. But I did take some liberties--the original is "And gladly would HE lerne," which I changed accordingly. I don't think Geoffrey would mind too much.

I like your first one best. The composition with the angled ribbons and the cropped photo give it a tension that really keeps your interest.

That's a wonderful quote and it seems to fit you very well. Every time I see your username, I think of my biking friend where I used to live...JuJu. It invokes lots of pleasant memories. Might I suggest one thing...I love the montage effect, but would like to see the full face view of the one that is in the middle, under the upper-left-hand corner. I think I would pay attention in your class ;-) It appears that you make things interesting in your teaching style.

I just clicked on your other one and I'm going back and forth. I have to say, between the two, I think I like the first one better - I get a better feeling of who you are from the first one. that's not to say I don't like this one, though. I do (love that photo edge). But if I'm forced to make a choice .. the 1st one.

Thanks, guys. I get the point--stick with no. 1. Maybe I'll just save this layout to stick in somewhere else, maybe when I get around to scrapping my life as a teacher. Or I could just add it to my sb where I keep pix of my classes.

Y'all have been enormously helpful--thanks again!

I've just clicked between the two , I like the elements in the first one, but I think if you are looking for a softer impression of yourself, this one fits the bill. Depends on what you are really like, the first one gives the impression of a straight down the line no- nonsense woman , whilst the second is a more softer, gentler approach.. which is more you?...

That is what I was going to say.... which one is the real you? I like the idea of cropping down the upper left hand photo in this one to let the middle back photo show more of you and then using this one as the second page.... The first page is right in your face but then you turn the page and see the whole story, the softer side... and with the dot, dot, dot, the next page should lead up to what else you are, who else is in your life... maybe... just a thought
