This certainly deserves a special place in the DSP Hall of Fame PQ - {hugs} Meryl

This is as close as I will probably come to art journaling.......I realize that I have too many words and not enough visual....*sigh*....I am a total failure as an art journaler....but at least I tried.

This is a self portrait taken with my cell phone...peeking over my cheater glasses. I have green eyes, but I thought that blue eyes looked better with the kit...Do you like my blinged-up glasses? I love bling.....

JOURNALING:
I struggle in the face of adversity,
yet even under the weight of a
chronic illness I do better than
most folks. I thank God for this natural
gift that oftentimes makes me seem
like I am swimming effortlessly
through life’s stormy seas. How do
I do it? Beats the heck out of me.
I know I have a natural ability
to see the glass as half full, and I
also know that, in
my own mind, I am not a
sick person. I work hard
at «appearing well»
to the people around me,
and every single day I
make realistic plans to
work within my
limitations. Yes,
I know that I have
limitations, but I
also have confidence
in my strength
and my abilities. My
advice to anyone with
a chronic illness
would be to: Focus on what
you CAN do, not on what you
cannot do. Develop realistic
goals and learn to rejoice
in small accomplishments.
Step back and rest and
reenergize yourself
when you feel the need -
never let your tank
get completely empty.
Enjoy life, surround your-
self with wonderful
friends, and praise
the Lord every day.

What a wonderful attitude you have - that's how you do it.
As for art journaling there are no AJ police measuring how many words you put on a page, if it's artistic and conveys emotions and feelings that's all you need. This fits the bill perfectly. I love how you've incorporated the bling with your photo so seamlessly.

Seems to me that this is about as good as art journaling gets, PQ! You show immense talent making the visuals intriguing and tantalizing, you write with clarity and emotion and your use of color and composition are at the head of the class. I like the positive bent you put on this. Seems most art journaling pages are negative. I have plenty of those kinds of thoughts that I prefer to keep to myself. As always, you lead by example. Off to Weekly Wonders........

I think this is a lovely self portrait. Visually and in words. I think this totally qualifies as art journaling.

I'm nuts over your gorgeous new art journaling page, Fran. I don't know much about art journaling, but this has got to be as fantastic as they come. I certainly don't think your journaling is too wordy; it's absolutely perfect and is so inspirational. I love how you stay so positive. Your great outlook on life has definitely got to be a true inspiration to others. Beautiful work.

Oh, PQ, this is has got to be the best page I've seen in a long, long time. If you failed at Art Journaling, you failed stunningly. I immediately went off to submit this to Weekly Wonders, but someone beat me to it. A.MAZ.ING work on this.
