My First Marble Cake
19 June 2012
I’d never made a marble cake before, always thinking that they were way too hard, but on this day while shopping I felt adventurous and got two packet cake mixes, one vanilla, one chocolate. I very quickly realised though that if I made both of them up in full, not only would I not have a pan large enough to cook it in, but I would have Way too much cake to eat. So a set of scales and some simple maths solved that problem pretty quickly. The initial results looked great, and although I left the cake in the over just a tad too long, it still looked great when it came out. Turning it out of the pan took the bottom off but that showed me just how well I had done inside. Once cooled I halved both batches of icing and marbled the icing as well. I don’t think I waited very long before having the first slice.
