My father-in-law in April 1942. Back when telegrams were the best communication, Jim sent this to his wife, Mary. It says simply "Safe Well Love" to let her know he was safe, well, and he loved her.
September 1942 Christmas card - Back side: Merry Xmas, Mary darling. I'm going to keep that date for Xmas dinner 1943.
Journaling: As it turned out, Jim and his fellow soldiers were sent to New Guinea to fight the Japanese. He didn't make the date for Christmas dinner till 1946.

This is just a wonderful kit. There is so much more in it than I show here. Very versatile!!!!
