The giraffe in the slidemount on the right didn't want to be confined so I let him peek out of the top! To do this I duplicated the giraffe photo, extracted the part that was going to emerge from the frame in the top layer, & deleted the unwanted background from the lower one.
Journaling reads:On our way to Namibia we had decided upon a night in Chobe, Botswana. We arrived in the early afternoon, & found ourselves in a nature paradise of completely unspoiled African bush. So unspoiled that there are no fences – perhaps the warning sign to sleep in a tightly zipped tent said it all! We found that we were sharing our site with several buffalo, which got closer & closer as it became darker. This certainly made going to the ablutions exciting – I certainly regretted calling Pete a woessie for wanting to drive there, when I realized that Ray was there, alone & without a torch! It took some persuading, but finally he did the brave thing, going up to escort Ray back with a light………………

It seemed we’d no sooner arrived in Chobe than it was time to leave again, but no that we have had a taste, we all want to have a Botswana holiday!

Wow, Meryl - you don't know how interesting it is to see the layouts you share - where I live is green and lush with a river and a few deer and many birds and many people. You visit exotic (to me) places and share and I so appreciate being able to envision what you describe. Thanks so much.

I just love these pages you're making of your latest trip! Wow, what an exciting vacation! I love how you've kept the same colour scheme throughout the layouts. I think it's neat how you still managed to get the giraffe to be part of the slide mount border. I love how you journal your pages! Thanks for sharing this!

I spent 4 days in Chobe and consider it one of the highlights of my life. But didn't you drive for 90 minutes to get to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe? I loved South Africa (Kruger) too. Your pages brought back such incredible memories. I love how you made a background of the animals and their geography. Just gorgeous. And whole album flowed together. Thank you so much for sharing.
