Thiis is a photo of my mom and my grandmother taken around 1928. I did a bit of restoration, but this small photo scanned remarkably well. I love how it came out! Notice my mom tugging on her mother's skirt. The small vintage fashion picture came from Fashion-Era.com. I made the pinky-tan paper mat and the vellum used to fill the stitched circles. I retinted the paper flowers slightly and made the numeral alpha from Meryl's Freebie Typewriter alpha.

PS - It's not a typo...I called my grandma "GRAMMA".

Journaling reads:

Slender and flat-chested became

the desired silhouette of the

1920s. Women gave up their

corsets and started wearing more

comfortable clothing. The loose

fitting chemise dress came into

vogue during this time and was

often worn with a cloche hat,

pulled low over the eyes. Short

bobbed hairstyles became

fashionable for women. The use

of makeup increased and ox-blood

red lipstick was the color of

the day.

This is a joy to look at! It reminds me of my Grandma, too -- I've seen pictures of her with her hair bobbed, and she still had two of those cloche hats when I was in Jr. High! (No, she didn't wear them anymore...)

Perfect layout that tells a GREAT story. This is sooo nice, and the little fashion plate is *such* a finishing touch.

Take a bow!!

Sandy this is priceless. What a great way to preserve the memory of your family and also the fashion of that time. I love your journaling which gives the history of that era.

Great job!!! I just love your work!
