It seems everyone's noticing that you rock as well; there have been over 25,000 visitors and 10 million hits to the site since it opened in April, and already 1500 registered members and counting. Wow. A total reflection of you – thank you!

Member Appreciation Week!

DSP would be nothing without our wonderful members! This site is all about you! As a way of saying thank you to the people who make this place so fun, DSP is announcing our first MEMBER APPRECIATION WEEK! Our theme is Christmas in July. Look for exciting Christmas parties, Christmas presents, and Christmas sales! Keep your eyes and ears open for exciting announcements to come!

DSP members voted and your new Scrappin’ Idol is…. a teen-age boy?

It’s true! Samuel Kordik of Wauwatosa, WI was voted the Digital Scrapbook Place’s first Scrappin’ Idol. Samuel was the only male of the original 35 contestants and found his way to number one! Samuel won a prize package valued at over $470, including three top-of-the-line plug-in filters (Eyecandy 4000, Splat and Xenofex 2, a combined $299 value) from our sponsor Alienskin, a 12x12 Bound Album plus shipping (a $90 value) from Bound2Remember, and a free membership for one (1) year to Club Digital.

Our talented first runner-up, Kristin, receives a free year to Club Digital and the scrappers rounding out the top five, receiving a free month of Club Digital each, are Marcee, Sindea and Christine.

Photography Challenge

Night Photography was the subject title of this months photography challenge & was specifically set to put the bulb function (on your cameras) to good use! The challenge started off well with users posting images just hours after the challenge was set & we have continued to see a steady flow of excellent images since! To view the participating images please check out our photography gallery & for additional information regarding the challenge please see our related forum. Users have until the 25th June 2004 to complete & post their images, after which the challenge will close for voting of DSP’s Image of the Month.

Digital Scrapbook University

A New Term at DSU!

Digital Scrapbook Place has seen the completion of the first term of Digital Scrapbook University and we’re revving up for an exciting second term! Registration is now open and classes start July 1st.

Classes offered include:

DSU 103 – Introduction to Digital Scrapbooking with Adobe Photoshop
DSU 104 - Introduction to Digital Scrapbooking with Jasc Paint Shop Pro
DSU 151 - Taking Better Snapshots
DSU 301 - Creating Realistic Elements in Adobe Photoshop

Each DSU class is four weeks long and includes fully-illustrated tutorials, examples, homework assignments, a private message board and weekly chats with your class. In addition to the weekly chat, the instructors are available by email for additional questions and personal feedback.

Our class catalog will continue to grow to meet the demand of our students. Keep an eye out for classes tailored to the advanced scrapper as well as fun classes with filters, fonts and more!
