Hello digiscrappers! July has been such a busy, and incredibly fun month at the Digital Scrapbook Place, and we're so excited to share more of what's coming up around the bend. We've seen some incredible growth at DSP in the past month. Over 40,000 people have come to visit DSP since we opened in April and over 20 Million Hits!
We hope you'll come check out the incredible work everyone did during our huge Christmas in July celebration! CIJ, as the week-long event became affectionately known, was just a huge success. We can't say enough about the energy, fun, learning, scrapping, and just plain creativity that DSP members have, but this week blew everything we've ever seen right out of the water. During the Christmas in July week alone there were 1,786 layouts posted. You can find galleries here. A big Thank You to all of our members who made this week so great!
Watch a for a special surprise every Sunday! Just another way to say Thank You to our DSP members!
And of course you just have to check out the challenges and contests going on - things move so fast around here; what fun! We hope that you've had a fantastic summer so far, and we're so grateful that you share your talent, creativity, vision and energy with us. Without you, DSP would just be another website. Thank you.

Sketches are a great way to get you out of a rut, help you finish a layout quickly, or just give you a great basic design to start from. Feel free to check out other sketches, plus ads, art, and other pieces of inspiration in the Inspiration Gallery! Even add some of your own!
This is the July Sketch - now go get cracking on your layout! Post your layout in the Sketch Contest Gallery; This July contest will end 07/31/04. Then a public poll will be posted to determine the best layout. The winner will receive a free month of Club Digital!
Photography Contest
Starting soon a two weekly photo contest!
This will be run along side the current monthly contest that works on
your technique but this one will be for fun.
Keep an eye in the photography forum for a chance to brush up on your
photography skills, to take photos following a theme and you may even
win something fabulous from the dsp store!
What fun it is to feed off each others' energy and creativity! The Add-On Challenge features members participating and taking turns adding an item (a technique, element, color requirement, etc) to a list in the forums, until we reach #10 on the list. At that point we go scrappin!! In order for our layouts to successfully complete the challenge we must include every item on the list.
After the list has been created, everybody posts their layouts created with the Add-On-List in the Challenge Gallery, and then at the end of the month, we vote on the winner, who receives a fantastic prize!! It's just amazing to see what everyone creates with the same "ingredients!"

DSP is thrilled to be Spotlighting a Scrapping Family!!!!!
The Kordiks! Mary Ellen (Mom) aka Mekstamper, Samuel (Son) aka sskflyer and our Scrapping Idol, and Emma (Daughter) (col coon).
The Kordik family lives in South Eastern Wisconsin. Mary Ellen is a home educator, Emma will be starting her sophomore year of High School and Samuel will begin working on his Bachelor's Degree in the Fall.

Registration Open for New Term at DSU!
Digital Scrapbook University is proud to announce registration is open for the August term. The new class line-up includes a returning favorite and two all-new offerings. August also marks the debut of our first photography class! By request, DSU hopes to offer at least one photography class per term to accommodate all scrappers: digital and paper scrappers!
Classes offered include:

103 – Introduction to Digital Scrapbooking with Adobe Photoshop
DSU
104 - Introduction to Digital Scrapbooking with JASC’s Paint Shop
Pro
DSU
151 – Photography: Taking Better Snapshots
Each DSU class session is four weeks long. Lessons are taught in tutorial form to accommodate the most complex of schedules. Classes include complete illustrations, examples, homework assignments, a private message board and weekly chats with your class. In addition to the weekly chat, the instructors are available by email for additional questions and personal feedback.

The DSU class catalog will continue to grow to meet the demand of our students. Keep an eye out for classes tailored to the advanced scrapper as well as fun classes with filters, fonts and more!
