Volume 2, Issue 1
This edition:

Letter from Team Digital

Each year in my life is characterized by certain memorable events.  In 1993, I moved from my childhood home across the country, away from everything I knew.  In 1997, I graduated high school and went to college.  I got married in 1998.  My children were born in 1999 and 2002.  2004 will stand out as a year of learning to me.

In 2004 I learned a lot about website design and business.  I also learned a lot about scrapping, photography, and design.  But the most important things I learned were about myself.  I learned about the lengths I push myself to succeed.  I learned that I indeed

don’t know everything!  I also learned that I have a wonderful supportive family, great friends, and that I have surrounded myself at work with the most friendly, hardworking and talented people out there.

When DigitalScrapbookPlace.com opened in April 2004, I had no idea what the year would hold for us.  The site and our members have far exceeded our expectations.  It has been our extreme pleasure getting to know you in the galleries, forums, in chats, and in classes.  Thank you for making 2004 so great!

In 2005 I have set some personal goals for myself as well as some scrapping goals.  One of the things I learned in 2004 was that I don’t have to scrap every photo.  Stacy Julian, editor of Simple Scrapbooks, taught me to scrap moments and not photos.  I learned that my scrapbook pages are a lot better if I only use my favorite photos to scrap the most important moments in my life.  I am anxious to take some new photography courses we will be offering in DSU to improve my photography and tell the story of my life and my family.

I hope that 2005 will bring joy and happiness as well as learning to each of you.  May you be blessed in your lives and scrap those important moments.

New Contests & Challenges

The Scrapper’s Challenge with Jamie Rousselle and Kristen Skold
What is the Scrapper’s Challenge? Is it finishing an album? Getting a layout published? Actually “getting caught up”?
Nope, no, uh-uh. It’s getting and staying organized! Whether we paper-scrap or digi-scrap, scrappers collect stuff! Photos, of course, and kits, elements, quotes, sketches – stuff. Over the next several months, we are going to get ourselves organized – and we invite you to organize along with us.
Watch the forums for more information!

A new contest for the new year - post a layout depicting "resolutions" in the special contest gallery at DSP. The only rule is that you need to use at least one DSP product (can be one from the store, from Club Digital (and Club Digital January just might have something perfect for this!!) or from the freebies gallery. Prizes will be awarded.
