Letter
from Team Digital – Margie Lundy
It’s
always
hard to believe when another year ends at DSP, and 2010 was no
exception as it
flew past. This year, DSP Headquarters (and my family) went mobile to Scrap
the Map,
and we’re
still loving it! We announced
our great tour sponsors, Adobe
and Fulltime
Families. We had fun
laptop crops in Minnesota,
Oregon,
California,
and Utah.
And we had lots of family
fun
in
between. Here on DSP, we celebrated our Sensational Sixth
Birthday, held
the Scrappy
Awards, Trendsetters,
and New
Kids on the Block, visited the
Designers Around the World for Christmas in
July, announced the new Digital
Elite Team (DET), had challenges
by the DET and Alumni, Designer
challenges, and even more
challenges, got to Trick or
Treat down DSP Lane, matched new scrappers with Mentors,
saw beautiful layouts added to the Hall
of Fame, highlighted great Layouts
of the Day
on the blog, spotlighted
awesome
members on the site, welcomed
new designer CarolAnn
Gary and newsletter editor Chris
O’Connor, were continually inspired with Inspiration
Station, were entertained (or
choose your own word- encouraged,
embarrassed, fascinated, shocked, loved…) by the
grannies, Santa gave us 12
days of
Christmas goodies, and so much
more. As always, there were enticing new
products, fun sales, great freebies, and lots of laughs.
I’m so grateful
for DSP’s amazing, supportive, and creative community
and
all the fun we had in 2010. And the best thing is that 2011
will be even
better! Thank you DSP!

Spotlight - HeatherH
DSP
Member
Spotlight for January is Heather aka HeatherH.
Check out her gallery here.
This
month’s talented DSP Member Spotlight is a DET Alumni / Hall
of Famer and 2010 Trendsetter describes herself as: “hard
working, energetic and like to have fun. Most days I feel like
I’m half crazy, flying by the seat of my pants!”
It can only be HeatherH!
“Definitely
Graphic and Grungy” says Heather, when asked to describe her
scrapping style, and her favorite scrapping subject is: her family.
Heather thinks they appear in about 90% of her layouts. So it stands to
reason that her favorite layout is You
Make Me Happy because it
includes her favorite subjects and true scrapping style.
“I
almost always start with a photo and then go in search of products to
match. Occasionally I will see a kit and it will immediately make me
think of a photo or a layout idea,” she said.
Congratulations on being our January 2011 Spotlight and getting us off
to a flying start to the New Year.
Be
sure to check
out Heather’s
Gallery and read more about her
on the Spotlight
Page. Then take part in the
Scraplift the Spotlight Challenge
before the end of January and you could be a random winner of a DSP
store coupon.
Congratulations
Heather and thank you for sharing your talent with us as the current
DSP
Member Spotlight.

Best-Selling
Beyond the Layout Product of 2010
With
more of us printing and gifting our digital creations, it's always fun
to
make them even more personal. DSP's best
selling Beyond
the Layout product of 2010 does
just that. The Scrapbook
Voice Recorder gives you 30
seconds of recording time to capture the
perfect message. Read a story to your children or
grandchildren, capture
a favorite song, or record the kids' young voices to enhance the memory
on your
page. The Voice Recorder is only 1/4" thick and very light,
with
replaceable batteries. It's also covered with acid free paper
allowing
you to paint, stamp, ink, or otherwise decorate to complement your
project's
theme. A perfect addition to any scrapbooking project!

Designer - Marcee Duggar
Another
year has
come and gone. Seems when you get older the years seem to slip by
faster, but you also learn to cherish each year more. Scrapbooking
seems to me the way to hold on to some of the most precious memories,
so that you can share them with the generations to come.
Each
year brings
more birthdays, births and marriages, so many things to be celebrated
with the passing of time.
That is why I love to scrapbook. I can not only remember in
my mind, but in full color in the scrapbooks or video
scrapbooks that i have created. When looking through these, I get such
a smile across my face with all the
fun times I have shared with my family. I hope that you get that same
feeling with the works of art you have created.
On
to the New
Years Resolutions. We all have them. They usually
involve losing weight or a bad habit we can't seem to break. This year,
add another to your list - Create More Memories and more Pages. There
are several
ways to do this. Some people create a page a day or take a
picture each day of the year to journal one
full year of their life. I think that these are awesome ideas
and hope to do at least one of these myself this year. Other
ideas include taking pictures of your childrens favorite toys or their
bedrooms. I have one picture
of my room from when I was a teenager and just love to look at what
interested me back then. I had a Garfield poster and
some Black Panther poster that glowed with a black light.
Yes, it was the 80s.
So
this year,
take pictures of what you love and share them with the ones you love.
Happy
New Year's
to all.
