Tutorial: Uploading Layouts to the DSP Gallery
by Emma Powell

Once you've uploaded your layout in the DSP gallery, you're ready to share the link with others in email, forums, and the gallery!

1. Copy the Link URL Address

To share the link in the DSP forums or to email to friends and family, go to the uploaded layout and copy and paste the address link into your forum comment or email.
When viewing the layout, double click the link in the Address Bar to highlight it and go to Edit>Copy, right click and choose Copy, or Ctrl-C.

2. In Email

To paste the link into an email, open your email program and go to Edit>Paste, right click and choose Paste, or Ctrl-V.

You can paste the entire link, but to keep it shorter and prevent wrapping in emails, truncate the link to remove everything after the image number, photo=5161, and cut the link from password=&sort... and everything following. If desired, also truncate www.digitalscrapbookplace.com to www.dsplace.com and remove For example, the longer link will work:
http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=5161&password=&sort=2&cat=500&page=3

but a shorter one will work as well
http://www.dsplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=5161

After pasting the link, select and cut the extra information by Edit>Cut, right click and choose Cut, or hit Delete.

3. In the Forums

You can paste as a text link in the DSP forum to not show the URL address, but only linked text as the "Click here to view the sample layout" shows in Figure 6:

fig 6

To add the text link, w hen typing a reply or new thread, click the URL link to paste it. A dialog will open to prompt for the text to link. Either type the text in, or type in the Reply form and highlight it to turn it into a link.

After typing the text to link, click OK, and a new dialog will open in which to paste the URL from the layout. Use either the full link, or the edited/truncated link; it doesn't matter which. Click OK.

fig 8

In the Reply screen the text will not appear as a link, but rather have the code used to turn the text into a link. Only when viewing the actual post will the text show as a link. The code is simply the link and text surrounded by the bracketed [URL] code, such as
[URL=http://www.dsplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=5161]Click here to view sample layout[/URL]

5. In the Gallery

Use this code to paste links into the gallery Description box to link to non-commercial sites, forum posts, or other layouts as needed. The gallery does not have a link icon, so manually type in the code, or paste the code from the forum post if you posted it there.

The general code is [URL=http//:link adress.com]link text[/URL]
