Tutorial: Creating a Basic Graphic Page in Digital Image Pro 7

Making a Graphic Style page in Digital Image Pro 7.

Open your program> File>New>resize to whatever format you plan to use. Here I used 8x10>select resolution>200 dpi.

On the side bar you will see buttons with different pictures. Chose the 5th button down, with the A, this means Add.

Click A>Shape or Line>square. Pull this to cover your entire layout.

Right click on the box you just created>Change shape or line>line thickness>None

This box now becomes your background.

Right click again>change shape or line>Fill color. Chose the color that you want your background to be.

Go to the A button again>Picture from my computer>Go to where you have your pictures stored on your computer>double click the one you want to use>Strech picture to fill entire page.

On the top bar you will see several words:File, edit, view, etc. Click Effects>Transparent Fade>Even. Pull the slide up to achieve the effect that you want. Here I used 43>click done.

Go to A again>picture from my computer. Add this picture on top of the background picture.

Go to A>text>chose your font and size- don't be afraid to use a large font size. Here I used 216 for ART. If you cannot find the perfect size font>text on the top tool bar>strech to fit text box>then pull from the corner of the text box to achieve the perfect size.

I use several text boxes to get the look I am trying to get

For the word Art, I used a shadow. Go to Effects on the top tool bar>shadow>drop left>customize the shadow>here I pulled the slider all the way up so there was no transparency for the really harsh shadow.

To strech the text, like I did on "bring to finish">go to text on the top tool bar>font>click the character spacing tab and move the slider to expand the text. You can expand up to 200% and condense 4%. Here I expanded 20.8 pts.

For the "layered" Art> Add text>go to effects>transparent fade>even> pull slider to effect you want- here I faded 74%.

Go to the A>Add shape or line>line>move lines to the size and direction you want. I added sevearl here.

Go to file>Save as> name your file, save as a png plus (this will save in a layered template so you can edit anything, should you need to.

Then go to file>save as> name your file>.jpg>options>for good printing, save at "current size" and do not compress the file>click save! you are done!!!!! Congratulations!
