This tutorial will help you make a fancy tag (or any type of fancy shape) in Digital Image Pro. First make a new document. Start with a 4in x 6in document at 200-300dpi.

Fill your new document with a color. (for advance DIP users, you can skip this part and fill the document with a digital background paper). Draw out the square shape onto your document and then fill it with a color. It does not matter which color you pick because we will change this later to a paper.

Next we will use our selection marquee tool to draw our tag.

Use the square tool and draw out the beginning of our tag.

Next change the marquee tool to the circle (buy clicking on the fly out arrow).

We will add to our selection so click on the PLUS selection mode as shown in the image above.

I use the ruler to help me with the next step. Align the tool against the ruler and click and drag out a circle. Release the mouse and the two selections will join.

Next we will want to cut the hole in the tag. Click on the Minus as shown below. This will remove part of the selection.

Click and drag out a small circle. Now we have the selection of a tag.

Select edit and cut. This will cut the selection out of the image.

Open up your background paper you want to work with then click on Edit > Paste. you will see your tag in your document. As below.

To fill the tag with a paper, click on Effects > fill with texture or color.

Click on Picture and then "Open a picture"

Search for the paper or image you want to fill the tag with in the browser window. Click on it and then click on OK.

Now you have your tag.

Now that was easy. Have fun and remember to post your creations in the DSP gallery.
