Tutorial: Torn Edges in DIP

DIP 7 & 9

Start by opening a new project>add shape>square>line thickness-none>fill color-choose color.

Do the same thing again>choose a different fill color.

Highlight the layer you want torn

Go to effects>transparency>transparency brush

Choose a medium sized brush>hard edge>paint transparency-100

Use quick, jerky movements to "tear" your paper. Go back and smooth out any "strange" looking areas with a smaller brush.

Then add a shadow to give it depth.

Effects>shadow>soft>adjust as you need.

You are finished!

Here you will see the torn paper with added filters.
