Using Page Kits with HP Creative
Scrapbook Assistant
(not
included in the Program Clipart)
by Kim Liddiard and
Lauren Bavin
If you would like to use kits and artwork that are not
included in HP CSA - such as freebies you have downloaded or kits you have
purchased the following instructions will help you import your artwork for
putting together your scrapbook pages. Note 1: It is optional where you put
your clipart and items, but I have found it to be much quicker to import all
clipart, elements and images to the images category. Note 2: Backgrounds will
need to be added under the Backgrounds tab for them to display their size
properly.
Click on the Background Tab > Get Other Content >
Browse to your page kit folder > OK

Tab Content Area is at the top of the work area just above
the rulers for the document area.
IMPORTANT WARNING! – Do
not delete items in the Tab Contents Area – this will delete the content
permanently and there is no way to retrieve what has been deleted.

Click and drag your desired background onto the work area.
Click on the ClipArt Tab > Get Other Content > Browse
to your page kit folder > OK

Tab Content Area is at the top of the work area just above
the rulers for the document area.
IMPORTANT WARNING! – Do
not delete items in the Tab Contents Area – this will delete the content
permanently and there is no way to retrieve what has been deleted.

Use the clip art items as you did in lessons 1 and 2.
Click on the Images Tab > Get Other Content > Browse
to your page kit folder > OK

Tab Content Area is at the top of the work area just above
the rulers for the document area.
IMPORTANT WARNING! – Do
not delete items in the Tab Contents Area – this will delete the content permanently
and there is no way to retrieve what has been deleted.

Select items from the Background or Images Tab and click and
drag them into your work area, adjust their size, add photos and text and you
have a quick and easy new scrapbook page!!

Note: This kit is Beauty – Demure by Kim Liddiard available
in the DSP Store.
Sharing pages for web viewing
Creative Scrapbook Assistant has the ability to export to a JPG format.
However, this file is too large to be shared online or by email. Here
are a few options to create smaller files for sharing:
1. Take a Screenshot.
Use a free screenshot program such as Screen
Hunter to take a photo of the layout on your screen within Creative
Scrapbook Assistant. Screen Hunter allows you to drag your mouse over
a certain area and automatically saves the screenshot to a specified file
and can also place it on the clipboard for you to paste into email.
2. Resize Online.
Export your Page to JPG format. Then visit Resize2Mail and click on Browse to find your newly created JPG. Select the box that
says, “I don’t care about the size. Just make the image 75%
smaller.”
The web page will then reopen with the resized image which you can right
click and “save as” to your hard drive.
3. Resize with an image view program such as IrfanView.
