Making a Round Ribbon Frame
by Christine Gundersen
Photoshop

This tutorial is a super, quick and easy way to make a round frame out of a straight ribbon.

Create a new image. File>New 12x12, in either 200ppi or 300ppi. Find a ribbon that is 12 inches long. Center it in the middle of the new image. I chose one from my As the Clock Strikes Midnight page kit.
See Figure 1.

You need to increase the height of the ribbon or it will look squashy when you are done. Transform the height to 130% to start, you might need to play with this depending on your ribbon, but it is a good place to start. See Figure 2.

Use Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates.... Rectangular to Polar to make the circle. See Figure 3.

Ta duh! That's it. Three super easy steps. Adjust the shadows and/or highlights, as desired, for consistency depending on your ribbon.
