Creating a post stamp in Photoshop CS2

Start creating a new document, transparent, 800x800 px, 200ppi. 

Select the foreground color to beige to achieve the resemblance of a real stamp color 

Select the Rectangle Shape Tool

.

Draw a rectangle like shown 

 

 Go Layer>Rasterize>Layer.

Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool from the toolbar. 

 

 Make the selection as shown in the picture: 

Click DEL key to clear the selected area 

Now select the Eraser tool from the toolbar, brush size 19, hardness 100, set the spacing to 129%.

Holding the Shift key drag the eraser brush along the upper part of your frame as shown 

 You will get the look of a realistic stamp edge.

Repeat the previous step with the other sides of the frame. Look what we’ve come up with 

Add shadow to your stamp: Layer>Layer Style>Drop Shadow. Enjoy!
