Tutorial: Using a Plopper© with Photoshop
by Meryl Bartho

Screenshots are Photoshop CS

Ploppers © are wonderful to use if you are short on time or inspiration and want some great pages made fast! There are a number available here at DSP, both in the Store and in the Freebies Section. This one I’m using here is my Winter Wonderland (Blue) Plopper

Figure-01 shows the plopper, opened. Double click on this layer, in the layout Palette, to change it from “Background” to “Layer 0”
File>save as> whatever you want to name your new page.

Figure-02 shows the photo which I want to use in the plopper opened in a new window. – for more help with this refer to the tutorial “Working with Multiple Windows”
Now use your mover tool to drag it into the window with your plopper.

Figure 3 Your photo must now be in the layer below the plopper layer. Use your move tool to resize until it looks good in the opening – remember to hold down the shift key whist resizing to maintain the original proportions – you don’t want to make your subjects short and fat or even tall and skinny ?

All that is now left to do is to print your masterpiece, put it in your album, and resize it, save for web and upload it to your gallery.

I do hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and have lots of fun with Ploppers ©!
