Tutorial: Screenshots in Screen Hunter

Version 5 now available!

Screen Hunter is a free screen capture program that will take screen shots of all or part of your screen quickly! It's very easy to set up and use, and you can upload the saved web images right into your gallery without having to resize them in an editing program. Download Screen Hunter from Wisdom Soft and install it. When you open the software you can choose a hotkey from the function keys.

Now choose the folder on your computer where you want to find your saved screen shots. You also have the option of copying to clipboard as well. JPEG is a good file default. Change your prefix if you like. I left mine the default.

You can then tell the program to Stand By and it will be on your Windows toolbar. When you have a layout ready to upload to your gallery, double-click the yellow hand to open the window again. Make sure your layout is a nice viewable size on your screen. Hit your hotkey. When you do this, the Screen Hunter window disappears and you can see your whole screen. Drag a rectangle around your layout.

A window pops up telling you what the filename is. You're done! Now you can share your screen sized layout right from the folder you selected to store them.
